The new iFixit video shows us how Samsung has integrated its S Pen stylus into the S22 Ultra , as well as a new vapor chamber to keep the phone cool during use. But the most interesting discovery about the duo has to do with the vibration motor inside the Samsung Galaxy S22 devices , which iFixit notes is now built into the bottom speaker rather than the top.
iFixit speculates that Samsung is trying to catch up to the iPhone 's Taptic Engine performance , but it's doing so with a component that takes up less space inside.
Unfortunately, the latest flagships of the Korean company have not improved in repairability scores. While most of the components inside the Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra are fixed with standard Philips screws, the housings of these phones are held together with a hard adhesive that is difficult to remove (iFixit actually did). cracked back of S22 Ultra during disassembly). In addition, the battery of this phone duo is also firmly attached to the body, requiring the repairman to be patient and take a long time to replace.
Finally, iFixit gave it a score of 3/10 for repairability (the higher the score, the easier it is to fix). For comparison, Apple's iPhone 13 Pro scored 6/10.
